Luxembourg startup. I rewrote two years of outsourced code in two weeks, then the app gained 12,000 users in five months.

( 01 )The problem
Keym had two years of code written by freelancers in India and Europe who came and went. There was no shared architecture, releases kept breaking and the team was stuck. The company had funding and users waiting, and no time for a six month rewrite.
( 02 )What I did
Keym was a social network for artists and music professionals, with posts, profiles, messaging, audio and video.
Rescue
- I audited the mobile codebase, then rewrote or fixed all of it in two weeks.
- I set up the architecture and conventions the team used afterwards, including navigation, the networking layer and a component catalog.
Build
- I built features for the mobile and web product, such as posts, media and messaging, and helped on the backend when it was needed.
- I worked every day with product, design and QA in a large team, partly on site and partly remote.

- Rewriting while the team kept shipping. There was no freeze, so the rewrite landed alongside the normal releases.
- Getting a large team onto one architecture. For two years everyone had done things their own way.
- Moving fast without breaking what users relied on.

The rewritten app gained 12,000 users in five months, and the team finally had a codebase they could build on. The founders and my colleagues wrote four recommendations about my work. The company closed in 2025.
